Creswell Social Centre
The Social Centre is the main meeting place in Creswell. All kinds of groups and societies use this popular venue. Its is also for used for weddings and private parties. Booking well in advance is required especially for weekend dates. The Social Centre has all kinds of entertainment in the evenings all year round ranging from Brass Bands to Live Rock Bands including some well known Artists and Tribute Bands. Swimming
As well as casual swimming and swimming lessons for both children and adults, our pools are host to a variety of swimming clubs and other sports. Below is a glimpse of what we offer, for a more detailed timetable pick up our brochure when you next visit the Centre or contact us with your details so that we can send one to you.
The 20m deck level pool at Creswell leisure Centre can host the following:
Pool parties – The pool is available to hire at weekends for parties
Aquafit classes – these take place throughout the week
Swimming Development Programme - use the pools to encourage and promote excellence at swimming.
Swimming Lessons - We cater for both adults and children in our beginner and improver sessions. All courses are led by ASA Qualified instructors.

A whole range of water based activities are on offer at Creswell Leisure Centre including swimming, canoeing, aqua-fit, parent & baby, OAP and disabled swimming sessions.
In addition to two high specification glass backed squash courts, the centre boasts the OXiGYM Fitness Studio featuring the latest range of fitness equipment on the market with stunning looks, leading edge design and the unique electronic Motion Control (EMC) which acts as your own personal trainer.
For those who wish to relax the Heatwaves Health Suite offers two Nordic sauna cabins and the latest fast tan sun bed.
Open - daily including all Bank Holidays (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day).
Conservation Areas
Fox Green
This much loved area is now recognised as Creswell's village green. Funds were made available to erect a perimeter fence and daffodils were planted by local residents. This area also plays host to local football teams and houses the Scout/Guide hut. A society was formed by residents, The Fox Green Preservation Society, to ensure the Fox Green remains a public open space.
Wollen Meadow
A popular site with dog walkers Wollen Meadow is a protected area due to the rare orchids that inhabit the site. There is a small car park and information boards. The River Wollen (from which the meadow is named) flows along one side.
Elmton Green
Elmton Green, in Elmton village, has been described as "internationally important" because a rare species of grass is growing there.
Playing Fields
The village of Creswell boasts 5 playground areas. These are located at (in photographic order) East Street, Model Village, Hazelby Road, Wood Avenue. There is also a small play area on the Fox Green (not pictured). All these areas have safety matting.
Skinner Street Cemetery
The cemetery on Skinner Street is immaculately maintained by the Parish Council gardeners and is a credit to them. At the top end of the cemetery is a memorial to those who died in the 1950 mining disaster. The original memorial was damaged so the Parish Council commissioned a new head piece depicting the colliery.
Allotments
There are several allotment plots in Creswell. Sites include Sheffield Road, Portland Avenue and Morven Street (pictured). Allotment rents are kept low to encourage take up of plots.
Robin Hood Line
Creswell has a railway station on the Robin Hood Line which links the village to Worksop, Mansfileld, Nottingham and all the villages inbetween. The village also benefits from an excellent bus service.

You can also relax and forget all your worries in one of our Nordic Saunas, each cabin can hold up to 4 people.
Raquets Squash Courts
Our high specification glass backed courts are suitable for all levels of play. Squash leagues are regularly held and courts can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
