ELMTON WITH CRESWELL PARISH COUNCIL

The Council was constituted by The Local Government Act 1894 which allowed it to take on the powers and duties which, until then, had been administered by church wardens and overseers of the poor. The Parish Council exists to discuss community affairs and exercise the powers bestowed on it. The Council itself is made up of eleven councillors who are elected by local residents eligible to vote. Each Council has a Clerk who acts as the Chief Administrative Officer and this Council has a Responsible Finance Officer.
